This veteran Swiss artist’s stock-in-trade has been a kind of brooding, expressionistic brushwork locked into minimalist geometric compositions. His latest paintings pare down his aesthetic even further with a series of raw linen canvases, each limned with a set of concentric circles applied in plain cooking oil.
