Louise Bourgeois | Yayoi Kusama
Art Basel 2015
Booth D11
Peter Blum Gallery is pleased to present a focused installation by two of the most important female artists of the second half of the 20th century: Louise Bourgeois and Yayoi Kusama.
The works will be exclusively selected from the early years of each artist’s career – Louise Bourgeois with work from the 1940s and 50s and Yayoi Kusama with work from the 1950s and 60s.
Although their work is quite diverse, they both have similar thematic ties with their personal, obsessive, and sexual qualities – Bourgeois using mostly representational imagery; Kusama using mostly abstract imagery.
Other artists exhibited:
Helmut Federle
Agnes Martin
Gerhard Richter
Robert Ryman
